The harp projects quite well on its own, especially in places with excellent acoustics (most churches). I do not typically use amplification for the wedding ceremony, since the sound can often be overpowering and may even distract from the ceremony itself. Depending on the venue you choose, and the number of guests you invite, amplification may be needed for the cocktail hour or reception to cut over background noise.
Yes! However, because it is an expensive and delicate instrument, there are two guidelines to consider. First, please make sure the location you have chosen has a flat, dry, and level surface, for the harp is sit on. Secondly, please arrange an alternate location indoors in case of inclement weather conditions. Strong winds or rain can easily damage the instrument, making it necessary to quickly move indoors should bad weather arise.
